Daniel Packard III

Army

Daniel Packard III passed away on March 1, 2013. Born in Denver, CO on February 23, 1927. A World War II veteran, he received an appointment to West Point but gave it up to enlist in the Army immediately. Graduated from Jacksonville State University, in Jacksonville, AL, majored in history and political science. Masters Degree in foreign affairs from George Washington University. Chief Economist for the American Trucking Association in Washington, DC. Senior Vice President of Personnel and Labor Relations for Associated Truck Lines in Grand Rapids, MI, 1963-1986. Board member of the Heart of West Michigan United Way from 1972-1981. Received the Life Member Award, United Way's highest honor, in 1981.
