Robert B. Sparks DOB 5-14-1918 of Kettle Falls, Washington entered the US Army in 1938, and was a Staff Sgt. by the time the War broke out in 1942. He was in the 102 Infantry Division in Camp Maxey, Texas "The Ozarks" in charge of a Motor Pool of Trucks. He went to Europe and was part of the Red Ball Express moving supplies in France and Germany under the command of the XIII Corps. Served with Distinction and was Honorably discharged in 1945. Moved to Yuma, Arizona where he was an Automobile Mechanic. In 1952 he joined the Yuma Fire Department and served for 21 years until his retirement in 1973. An avid outdoors-man he enjoyed fishing, hunting and golf until his death in 2001. He is survived by his wife Annie Sparks who lives in Phoenix, AZ at the age of 93 yrs old. I am very proud to call him my Grandfather!!
