Vincent Barrett

Army

Vincent Thomas Barrett served in the United States Army, during WWII, as a 1st Sergeant of an anti-aircraft company. He enlisted in the National Guard in 1941. He was stationed on the pacific coast and later North Carolina, before going active duty and shipping out overseas. /n /n1st Sergeant Barrett's letters home to his mother were reprinted in his hometown newspaper, the Dunlap Reporter, giving folks back home a unique insight into life on the front lines.
