Benjamin Myrick Jr

Air Force

Joined the Air Force in 1950 at the age of 17. Trained in the 3750 Trg Wing Sheppard AFB, Tx. First duty assignent Davis Monthan AFB. Married the love of his life Mary Ruiz, she had 5 children from a previous marriage. While station at DMAFB they had 3 more children, bringing the total to 8. /nReceived orders to Wheelis, AFB Tripoli Libya. Relocated his entire family always keeping us together while raising all 8 children as if they wer all his own. While in Tripoli another son was born. Next Duty station K.I Sawyer AFB, Gwinn Mi. where the last two Myrick boys were born. Although only an enlisted nco our dad alway ensured we had everything we needed and most of the things we wanted. He was strict, demanded only the best from us ,but was also the most unselfish loving man in the world. Instilled family values and morals the to this day myself and my children fall back on those values and morals. He proudly served, God and his country, while raising a family of 11 children that till they were grown and in High School did not know the phase step brother or sister, nor did we have any idea that our income level was below poverty. We always enjoyed life to the fullest thanks to the sacrifices of Benjamin Myrick Jr.
